Monday December 9TH, 2019


The Kiester City council held special meeting on Monday December 9, 2019 at the Kiester city hall.

Mayor Goggin called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Council members present were Hope Bauman, Larry Dahleen, and Jason Kluender. City personnel present were city clerk Doris Troll and maintenance man Gary Skartland. Members from the public were: Judy Goggin, Jan Engebretson, Marcia Dahleen, Vickie Savick, Carol Rinehart, Trina Bendickson, Brandon Hagenson, Nick Kresbsbach

Mayor Goggin opened he special meeting in regard to the Liquor Store; and then turned the meeting over to Larry Dahleen. In which he read a prepared statement as the to the liquor finances, as well as presenting spreadsheets and graphs for the public.

Then it was open for comments: A resident asked question in regard to the report that show sales from 10 to 10;59 pm and how could that be if the store is not open. As well as confirming the labor costs were down, there was another comment form a Legion staff member stated how nice it was to have the store in town for them when they run short on an item before their next delivery. One other resident commented on the lighting in the back room, and how they still would like to see landscaping as well a better marked handicapped space, along with marked parking spaces. One more resident asked if they could do something with the south side of the building to make is show that it is a liquor store by a sign or graphics on the building.

At this point no one had any further comments.

Motion to adjourn made by Jason Kluender seconded by Hope Bauman Vote 4-0, motion carried.
