The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday August 26, 2019 at the City of Kiester Offices

Mayor Goggin called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Council members present were Hope Bauman, Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender City personnel present were city clerk Doris Troll Absent were Larry Dahleen, and Gary Skartland Members from the public were; Carol Rinehart.

Agenda: Motion to accept agenda with the addition of claims by Rich Jensen, seconded by Jason Kluender s. Vote 4-0, motion carried.

Council minutes: Motion to accept the council meeting minutes for 12th August 2019 by Hope Bauman, seconded by Rich Jensen Vote 4-0, motion carried.

Claims: A motion by Rich Jensen seconded by Hope Bauman, to approve the claims for a total of $ 10,800.93 vote of 4-0 motion carried.

Public Comment: None.

Budget talks: Larry, Doris and Rich G will have further discussion in the coming weeks up to the preliminary budget due the end of Sept. The main point that came from the meeting with the engineers with the thought of redoing all streets, to include water and sewer lines along with repaving, was that the grant that rich was going to try to get for the city will be part of the package that he has for us.

Maintenance report: none as Gary was out, Due to an injury out at the ponds.

Clerk update: Plenty of liquor store applicants, as well as compliments on the color of the building, The numbers for the first days open until 10 pm the sales from 8 to 10 on Friday open were $ 158.20 and on Saturday were $ 242.55.

Mayor update: Rich would like to thank the council members for being at the library open house, they have already had 50 plus people come to use the library, we need to talk to Bevcomm for a quest WIFI this will prevent viruses getting into the computer. There was a letter today wanting to know if Kiester wanted to be a Purple Heart city.

Committee updates: Grocery Store is getting quotes for a new produce cooler as well as meat cooler. They are looking at a 4-door unit. And will get cost to us when they have them.

Motion to adjourn was made by Rich Jensen and seconded by Jason Kluender Vote 4-0, mayor Goggin adjourned the meeting.
