KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

Monday April 23, 2018

 

THESE ARE APPROVED MINUTES

 

The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday April 23, 2018

 

Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.  Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Larry Dahleen, Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender, Rick Stoneman, Gary Skartland and  Clerk Doris Troll, Members from the public in attendance were Marcia Dahleen

 

Agenda: Motion by Jensen seconded by Dahleen to accept agenda. Vote 5-0 , motion carried.

 

Council minutes: Motion to accept April 9, 2018 with corrections by Stoneman seconded by Jensen vote 5-0 motion carried.  

 

Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded by Dahleen to approve the claims of $ 23,727.24. Vote of 5-0 motion carried.    

 

Creamery: The council was informed from the county that the cost to us for the property would be $ 1.00 and there is some confusion as who would be responsible to remove the tank.  Jason was going to talk to Tom Warmka to see where we stand on the removal of the tank.  No action taken.

 

Building permits per presented for j Sens a motion by Stoneman seconded by Kluender to approve the building permit. Vote 5-0. Motion carried.

 

 

Public input: none

 

Maintenance:  Gary started to sweep the streets. He will be discharging the ponds next week.

Gary is also going to be getting bids for sealcoating of the streets. He hopes that he is done plowing for the year.  Gary was also going to start the spring cleaning up of the town, after the winter.

 

Clerk update:   the clerk will be gone from April 28 to May 2, 2018 for the MMBA liquor conference in Alexandria, with the hope of getting some ideas and help form other small liquor stores.

Meeting for 5-28-2018 what would the council like to do as it is a day we are not allowed to meet. Due to the holiday Motion by Stoneman not to have a 2nd meeting in May seconded by Kluender, vote 5-0 motion carried.

 

Mayor update:   He attended a region 9 meeting and attended the legislative & communication meeting as there is concerns with broadband in the rural areas of Minnesota.

 

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Kluender seconded by Stoneman, vote 5-0, motion carried.
