THESE ARE UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL

The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday October 23, 2017.

Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Larry Dahleen, Rick Stoneman, Jason Kluender, Gary Skartland, and Doris Troll Clerk No Members from the public were in attendance.

Agenda: Motion to accept agenda with the addition of cars on the street. Jensen, seconded by Dahleen vote 5-0 motion carried.

Council minutes: Motion to accept October 9, 2017 Council minutes with corrections by Kluender seconded by Jensen vote 5-0 motion carried.

Claims: A motion by Dahleen seconded by Kluender approve the claims of $ 99,329.26 Vote of 5-0 motion carried.

Builder permits: a motion to approve building permits for K. Busch, and D Johnson made by Kluender seconded by Dahleen, vote 5-1, motion carried.

Maintenance report: Gary will be discharging the ponds starting in November. The mowing is done for the season, there are three lights at the Market and Reindal Electric will be coming to look at them. The generator is getting closer to being hooked up as the cement pad has now been poured.

There was a motion by Jensen to sell the 1993 for truck on sealed bids seconded by Dahleen, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Gary will get the specifications for the truck to the clerk to place the ad. And bill will be opened at the 11-27-2017 meeting.

Items for next year; Gary has gotten pricing on a salt / sander. He has also received bids for having the water plant equipment checked over. Bids have been received to repair the air conditioner in the pick up as well as tire pricing.

The council also had a discussion in regards to cars parking on the street when we get over 3 inches or more of snow.
Gary was going to see if he can get pricing on towing, there were also ideas of making a snow emergency route in town.

Budget talks: there were discussion in regards to pay increases, some of the items that the city would like to do during next year.

There was motion to adjourn by Stoneman seconded by Kluender. Vote. 5-0, motion carried.
