The Kiester City council held a Special meeting on Wednesday August 30, 2017 For the purpose of a conversation with Mayo Health Care to discuss the future of the Kiester Clinic.
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Larry Dahleen, Rick Stoneman, and Doris Troll Clerk. Members from Mayo Clinic were ,Dr. Anne Sadosty, Trisha Dahl, and Dr. Brian Bunkers and numerous members from the public.
The purpose of this meeting was to have an open dialog with Mayo Clinic and the citizens of the area who are concerned with what will be happening to the Kiester Clinic.
The Mayo representatives gave us the reasons why they are in the process of changing things as the rural communities
have been changing over the past years and they are want to continue serving the rural areas, but are still in the process of figuring out the best way for all.
The Mayo staff answered questions from the public.
There was a motion by Jensen seconded by Stoneman to adjourn the meeting vote, 4-0 motion carried.
