KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday September 11, 2017
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen, Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender and Gary Skartland. Clerk Doris Troll, Members from the public in attendance were Marcia Dahleen, Bill Buege from Save our Hospital.
Agenda: Motion by Kluender seconded by Jensen to accept agenda with additions and corrections of Kiester Market, save our Hospital, by Kluender seconded by Dahleen vote 5-0, motion carried.
Council minutes: Motion to accept August 28, 2017 Council minutes with corrections by Stoneman seconded by Kluender vote 5-0 motion carried.
Jerry Alphs was present from the Fire Department to request that the council cash in CD numbers 6336,6427, 3693 and 6482 to pay for the new fire truck that is on order
Claims: A motion by Dahleen seconded by Kluender to approve the claims of $50,720.32 Vote of 5-0 motion carried.
Past Due water billing: Motion to shut off on 9-21-2017 by Kluender seconded by Jensen. Vote 5-0, motion carried.
The Kiester ambulance requested that the city council approve the of the bid for the rust removal and repairing of the ambulance, and that the ambulance squad is in the very early stage of looking to replace the current one within the next 5 years. Motion by Stoneman seconded by Jensen to pay for the repairs per quote, vote 5-0, motion carried.
Public Input: Bill Buege was here from the Save our Hospital group, to ask the council for their support. No action taken.
Kiester Market: All the equipment has been prepared for shipping and has been picked up.
Maintenance report: the cable line that was bored and placed in piping is 16 feet below, so no one knows whom it belongs to and if it is an active line. There was a quote for a used payloader. They will be discharging the ponds in October, There are waiting for the concrete to get poured for the generator, and bids are continuing to be gotten for next years sealcoating.
Clerk update: the clerk informed the council that at the next meeting everything will be in the new systems so we may start the budget process.
There was motion by Jensen seconded by Kluender to adjourn the meeting. Vote carried 5-0.
