The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday April 24, 2017.


Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 3:30 pm.  Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen, and Gary Skartland. Doris Troll Clerk , Jason Kluender was absent  Members from the public in attendance were  Marcia Dahleen, Don Nickel, Nicole Swanson                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              


Agenda: Motion to accept agenda Jensen, seconded by Dahleen vote 4-0 motion carried.


Council minutes: Motion to accept April 11 2017 Council minutes with corrections by Dahleen seconded by Stoneman vote 4-0 motion carried.


Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded by Stoneman to approve the claims of $ 8,217.10 Vote of 4-0 motion carried.  


 Public input: Don Nickel was her to represent the open doors church United Methodist Church,

With a request to block Roberts street off from 3rd street to Main street on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. This is for the Spring Community Block Party that the church is planning, Motion by Jensen seconded by Dahleen to block Roberts street off from 3rd street to Main street on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. Vote 4-0, Motion carried,


Maintenance report:   Empire pipe has completed the first year of the 3-year contract. The will have representative down to show us the video.  There are some issues with the pipes on 6th Street. Gary has contacted Ulland’s will be able to rework the contract  for 6tth street if we choose not to go ahead with the project. Adam will be attending a wastewater seminar next week for 2 days. Gary will also be getting bids to have some trees removed from the boulevards where needed.


Clerk update:   the clerk informed the council that she has rescheduled the Banyon Training for early next month. And that as of now she was not sure if she was going to attend the League of Minnesota’s conference in June. 


Mayor update: Doug informed the council that he has received a letter from Region 9 that the representative for our area has missed 3 or meetings and they are looking for a replacement.


There was motion to adjourn by Stoneman seconded by Dahleen. Vote. 4-0, motion carried.
