KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Monday March 13, 2017
THESE ARE UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL
The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday March 13, 2017.
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen, Doris Troll Clerk, and Gary Skartland. Members from the public in attendance were Carl Savick, Dena Trytten, and Greg Burkhardt.
Agenda: Motion to accept agenda with additions the April 10, 2017 by Jensen seconded by Kluender, , vote 5-0 motion carried.
Council minutes: Motion to accept February 27, 2017 Council minutes by Jensen seconded by Kluender vote 5-0 motion carried.
Claims: A motion by Dahleen seconded Jensen to approve the claims of $ 27,530.50 Vote of 5-0 motion carried.
Burkhardt audit report: Greg Burkhardt went over the audit for 2016 with the council.
Active Living Group: Carl made a request of the council to mow a 10-foot-wide path up at the old athletic field to be used as a walking path.
Public Input: a resident had requested if there could be a stop sign placed at County Road 2 and Highway 22.
Mowing of Football field: Brad Soma has requested to mow the football field again this year.
Motion by Jensen to let Brad Soma mow the football filed for 2017 seconded by Stoneman. Vote 5-0, motion carried.
Paste Due Water Bills: Motion by Stoneman Seconded by Dahleen to shut water off on 3-20-2017 if not paid in full by 3-17-2017. Vote 5-0 motion carried.
Garbage Proposals: The clerk will contact Hometown and B & B to see if they can accommodate the city with what they would like and have them come to a meeting before making any decision.
Street Bids: There was a motion by Jensen to have Ullands do the 6th & 8th street projects. Seconded by Dahleen. Vote 5-0 motion carried.
Maintenance report: The plow truck has lost its steering, and Gary will be having it looked at before and getting quotes before any work is done it. A curb stop has to be replaced on County Road 2 (State Street). This will be done next week. There was a discussion in regards to a shoulder strap for the Bobcat for safety reason.
Clerk update: the backup system for the Banyon program. There was no motion to accept at the meeting on 2-27-2017. There was a motion by Stoneman seconded by Dahleen to accept the bid for the backup. System. Vote 5-0 motion carried.
The 4-10-2017 meeting should be moved as there will 2 council members missing. The council chose to move the meeting Thursday 4-13-2017.
Here was motion by Jensen seconded by Kluender to adjourn the meeting. carried 5-0.
