KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL
The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday February
23 13 , 2017.
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen, Doris Troll Clerk, and Gary Skartland. Members from the public in attendance were Marcia Dahleen, Frank Thompson from Thompson Sanitation, Curtis Wadd from W W Blacktopping, and Jake Jensen form RDO Equipment.
Agenda: Motion to accept agenda with additions the Fire Department by Kluender, seconded by Stoneman, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Council minutes: Motion to accept January 23 2017 Council minutes by Jensen seconded by Kluender vote 5-0 motion carried.
Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded Dahleen Jensen to approve the claims of $ 33,385.21 Vote of 5-0 motion carried.
Garbage Proposals: Thompson Sanitation presented a proposal for the Garbage pickup in Kiester. No action was taken at this time.
Liquor Store: Quote for a new furnace as the bearings in the shaft are bad the cost could be as much to replace as to repair. After a discussion, there was a motion by Kluender seconded by Stoneman. Vote 5-0. Motion carried.
Road Bids: Curtis from W.W. Blacktop came to present their proposal for the 6th Street. No action taken.
Equipment upgrade: Jake Jenson presented his proposal for a payloader with a snow wing. No action taken.
Public input: requesting Department Mangers to attend the meeting to give updates, to be more accountable to the council for they budget monies they have been allotted.
Paste Due Water Bills: Motion by Stoneman Seconded by Kleunder to shut water off on 2-20-2017 if not paid in full by 2-17-2017. Vote 5-0 motion carried.
Maintenance report: Hawkins came and replaced the pumps. There is a graph machine that is not working and I have placed a call to see if it can be repaired. Gary asked what the city would like to do with the 500-gallon fuel barrel that is not being used any more.
Fire Department: The fireman would like to know that the department thanks the city for the oven and baking racks, that were not in use at the Market.
Clerk update: The clerk informed the council that the auditors were here and will present their final report in March.
Here was motion by Kluender seconded by Jensen to adjourn the meeting. Vote carried 5-0.
