The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday January 23, 2017.


Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.  Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen, Doris Troll Clerk, Gary Skartland was absent, with no residents in attendance.  


Agenda: Motion to accept agenda with additions of Grocery Store and Maintenance information by Jensen, seconded by Stoneman, vote 5-0 motion carried.


Council minutes: Motion to accept January 9, 2017 Council minutes by Kluender seconded by Dahleen, vote 5-0 motion carried.


Claims: A motion by Kluender seconded Dahleen to approve the claims of

$ 17,103.82 Vote of 5-0 motion carried.    


Grocery Store: Jensen took an inventory of current equipment that the Market Group is not using.  The council would like to sell it off if the Market Group has no plans to use in the future.  It was determined that Jensen should attend the next Market Group meeting to ask the board if they have plans to put the equipment to use again, and inform them that the city would like to sell it off. Jensen will report back to the council at the next council meeting, as to the outcome of his meeting.


Maintenance issues: Jason has contacted RDO, Ziegler/Cat and  New Holland to explore options for upgrading equipment.

Garbage removal: Waste Management has presented the city with new contract with various options.  The council would like to see quotes from other companies in the area. The clerk will make the necessary phone calls.


Here was motion by Kluender seconded by Jensen to adjourn the meeting. Vote carried 5-0.
