KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

THESE ARE UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL

The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Thursday May 26, 2016

 

Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.  Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen Jason Kluender and Clerk Doris Troll City Maintenance Gary Skartland, members from the public in attendance

Were Carl Savick , Sylvia Halverson, Mary Aske all representing the Active living Group.

 

Agenda: Motion by Jensen seconded by Dahleen to accept the agenda as printed, vote 5-0 motion carried.

 

Council minutes: Motion by Kluender seconded by Stoneman to accept meeting minutes with changes, to 5-12-16 minutes.  vote 5-0 motion carried.

 

Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded Kluender to approve the claims of $ 14, 360.98 vote of 5-0 motion carried.

 

Active Living Group: was present to request that the city be the Fiscal host of their mini grant from Ship, these grant monies will be used to set up a booth during Kiester days to get residents input on a larger scale survey to be asked to fill out.  A motion by Stoneman to agree to be the fiscal host, seconded by Jensen, vote, 5-0 motion carried.

 

Building permits: were presented for Juan Salcedo. A Motion by Jensen seconded by Dahleen to approve building permits.  Vote 5-0 motion carried.

 

Maintenance report:  The sprayer is ready to go, the park bathroom s open for the season, They hydrants have been flushed, Maguire Iron was here to clean the water tower and put the new valve in. Gray will be ordering more blacktop to have on hand, Adam washed and cleaned the city trucks. Gary was also going to be getting quotes on the storm sewer pipe on 8Th street, WW blacktop has not given us a date to redo the road as of yet.

 

Clerk update:   the clerked informed the council that the commercial people will be retuning on 6-14 to thank the town of Kiester and show us the final commercial

 

Minnesota Basic code: There was discussion in regarding the fees and fines at this time the council has asked the clerk to get the fee schedule from other cities.

A motion to adjourn was made by Stoneman seconded by Kluender with a vote of 5-0 motion passed.

 

The next city council meeting will be held on Thursday June 16, 9 2016 at 7 pm.
