The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Thursday April 28, 2016
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen Jason Kluender and Clerk Doris Troll City Maintenance Gary Skartland, no members from the public were in attendance
Agenda: Motion by Kluender seconded by Dahleen to accept the agenda as printed, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Council minutes: Motion by Kluender seconded by Stoneman to accept meeting minutes of 4-14-2016, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded Kluender to approve the claims of $ 26,607.53 vote of 5-0 motion carried.
Building permits: were presented for Michelle Gurung, Cecil Simonson, Haley Olson, Melissa Michaelis. A Motion by Kluender seconded by Jensen to approve building permits. Vote 5-0 motion carried.
Maintenance report: We will be replacing water valves on the east side of the old apartments, and also on County Road 2 And 2ND Street south. The cylinder has been removed from the Grocery Store lift and parts have been ordered for repair. Hydrants will be flushed the week of 5-16 to 5-19 and the clerk will put a notice in the paper. After using the new mower it will be a good fit for our needs. The warning siren has a chip on order and as soon as it gets here we will be taking the unit to have it installed, Heath has been here and put a manual switch on the unit as well for use in case there are any further issues with the siren.
Clerk update: Doris will be out of the office for training from Sunday May 1 to Friday May 6
There has been a notice placed in the paper and a sign will be hung on the door, Voice mail and email will be checked remotely as time warrants. The Dog clinic will be on May 14, 2016 from 9 am to 10 am at the Fire Hall. Dr. Jack Peterson will be here selling vaccination’s. and the city will be selling licenses at that same time frame There are still CTAS (the accounting program the we use) issues and the State Auditor has our date and trying to figure out was is going wrong. As of now the commercial shoot is going to be held on May 12.
Minnesota Basic code: Motion by Kluender seconded by Stoneman to adapt Title XV Land usage as is Vote 5-0 motion carried.
A motion to adjourn was made by Kluender seconded by Stoneman with a vote of 5-0 motion passed.
The next city council meeting will be held on Thursday May 12, 2016 at 7 pm.
