KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Monday February 22, 2016
THESE ARE UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL

The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday February 22, 2015

Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen Jason Kluender and Clerk Doris Troll City Maintenance Gary Skartland, Members from the public in attendance were: Marcia Dahleen

Agenda: Motion by Kluender seconded by Dahleen to accept the agenda as printed, vote 5-0 motion carried.

Council minutes: Motion to accept meeting minutes of 2-8-2016 Council minutes by Jensen seconded by Stoneman, vote 5-0 motion carried.

Claims: A motion by Jensen seconded Kluender to approve the claims of $ 21389.56 vote of 5-0 motion carried.

Public Input: Marcia asked the council if it was possible for all council members to face the public instead of some with backs to the public.

Active Living: Rick gave a brief update to the last meeting with the Active Living group.

Liquor Store: The council reviewed the quote that was given by Fountain Refrigeration and they were in need of more information before they could make a decision

Maintenance report: Gary informed the council that the roof of the retail center is leaking into the Courier office and would be trying to track down where the water was entering on the roof to repair. Gary also placed a call to WW Blacktop for them to come down to give us quotes on the streets we would like to redo. There are some sidewalks that will need repairing this summer the main one being by the Grocery Store. Gary also informed the council that as of 4-1-2016 He would be doing the water testing in Walters on his own and not though the city of Kiester. Reindal Electric has given a quote of $ 900.00 to replace the ballasts and lights in the city shop. Gary asked the council if they would be interested in purchasing his pickup from him to replace the city pick up. His pickup has 190,000 miles on it and has a new transmission as well as tires. He is asking for $ 4000.00 after a discussion there was a motion by Kluender seconded by Stoneman to purchase Gary’s pick up for $ 4000.00, vote 5-0 motion carried.

Minnesota Basic code: Motion by Kluender seconded by Dahleen adapt Title XI with changing Chapter 111 to reserved. Vote 5-0 motion carried.

A motion to adjourn was made by Kluender seconded by Jensen with a vote of 5-0 motion passed.
