KIESTER CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

THESE ARE UNAPPROVED MINUTES UNTIL APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL
Before the meeting was called to order there was a public hearing in regards to turning city property into a rural service district. The mayor read the ordinance number 2016-02-01 There was no public input in regards to the property.
The Kiester City council held a regular meeting on Monday February 8, 2016
Mayor Trytten called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mayor Doug Trytten, council members Rich Jensen, Jason Kluender, Rick Stoneman, Larry Dahleen , Doris Troll Clerk, and Gary Skartland. Members from the public in attendance: Marv Borcherding.
Agenda: Motion to accept agenda by Kluender, seconded by Jensen, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Council minutes: Motion to accept January 25, 2016 Council minutes by Jensen seconded by Dahleen, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Ordinance number 2016-02-01: motion to make a resolution to adapt ordinance number 2016-02-01 to turn property id number 27.022.0700 into a rural service district by Stoneman seconded by Kluender, vote 5-0 motion carried.
Claims: A motion by Stoneman seconded Dahleen to approve the claims of $ 13437.56 vote of 5-0 motion carried.
Past due Water Billings: motion to take shut off past due water bills by Stoneman seconded by Jensen, vote 5-0 motion carried.
City of Walters: there was brief discussion in regards to the legalities of Gary working for the City of Kiester as well as doing the water for Walters. Gary will attend the next Walters council meeting to discuss with them what they would like to do.
Maintenance report: Ulland Bros. will be getting us a firmer rate for the 3 blocks. Gary was also going to be contacting others to see what they could do for us.
Liquor Store The compressor has gone out in the cooler, Mary has presented the council with a quote for a new refurbished compressor for $ 900.00, It was determined at this time we would not be replacing the compressor and that Mary was going to get us some quote for a double door cooler.
The clerk informed the council of items that she has learned from the auditors while they were doing the audit. They will give the council a full report when they present the audit to the council.
Th ere was motion by Kluender seconded by Jensen to adjourn the meeting. Vote carried 5-0.
